Aston hall was first opened as a hospital for patients with mental illness and severe leaning disabilities in the 1930s.This continued through to 2004-2005 when it was closed.
There has been a number of ideas what the developers have wanted to do with the place which hasnt gone down well with the local residents.However i notice an article in a local newspaper recently that planning permision has been granted to use the site for a old peoples home.
Unlike some places, Aston hall has a real nice atmosphere to it, and although the local yobs and pikies have wrecked the place,there is still plenty to see.
