According to my Granny (who knows all about old hospitals) this was originally a lunatic asylum, until about 40 years ago, when it became a convalescent home for the elderly. It was shut down roughly 15 years ago and hasn't changed much in the past 6 or so - used to go here as a teenager
Thanks Fazwold for the company!

No but will ask the man who told me and my hubby who knows about the ghost, he's also going to give me some info on what they paid for food and linen, if i think right he worked there, as soon as i get all info i'll post it up

Thank god. I can remember visiting a friend's aging grandmother there as a kid, and it was the most squalid depressing old people's home I've ever had the misfortune to visit :(

I used to get taken to fetes up there when I was a kid. I'd love to say I remember it having a scary atmosphere or something, but to be honest, all I remember is takjing all my clothes off and getting told off by mum :(

I know I'm double-posting (sorry ) but went back again today with Faz and got some more shots.
