Severalls asylum..the final goodbye

A quick break from the Scotland explores.visited Severalls a little while back with richPDG after we both decided to give it a final look.i went here a few years back and been wanting to revisit for a while now.with demolition imminent.the housing estate signs are up.(it seems everywhere I go hundreds of houses are imminent) the trees are being cleared.getting in was a bit more tricky than on my last visit and we got nabbed by the very nice secca guy.it will be sad to see this place go even though it's been posted so much.and I echo the thoughts of what others have said that it's still one off the largest and finest explores about.with its sprawling corridors and wonderful decay.

Goodbye sevs forever.

gob smackinly brilliant - you look at some sets and some photos do not belong but here - every one has there place
I have never seen anyones photos that are as always as good as yours.

Good work there Mikey. Sad thing is like many others I know exactly where every shot was taken. Hard to imagine houses where she stands - but I remember saying that about every plot of land the sprawling houses have popped up on in Colchester, and the relief road......

Fantastic set! Brilliant.
I posted a set called "Farewell Sev's" nine years ago, so it shows how long this has been coming.
I went to lunch with someone who has been more than anyone else I know (90+ visits?) and he said this weekends jaunt was by far the hardest.

I can only really think of two things mate.wither people have put them as a guide to getting about.I did see coloured arrows too.they often have them in the caves and mines.or they have been marked for for when demolition starts.so they can code for salvaging etc.but not totally sure.

Ninety times.that's a lot ha hs.I must admit it was a challenge this time.but so worth it

Really is the end of an era.

Don't think Fairmile is a fair comparison as they saved the majority of that place, as far as I know the whole of Severalls is on the chopping block.
