ROYAL WORCESTER PORCELAIN FACTORY
Walking past this place a couple of weeks ago I was surprised to see that 4 buildings are yet to be converted into flats and offices. Needless to say I was off home to grab my camera!!
A quick scramble up and over the fence and I was in! I could only get into 2 of these buildings and they're pretty much empty apart from a load of the builders bits n pieces.
A good little splore, will keep an eye on it me thinks and try and get into the other 2 buildings as these look more interesting.
Royal Worcester Porcelain was founded in 1751 by Dr John Wells and a group of local businessmen, the quality of the porcelain was so good that by 1789 they were awarded a 'royal warrant' hence the 'royal' bit.
The factory remained unchanged until 1862 when it underwent a major modernisation program.
The company celebrated it's 250th anniversary in 2001 but sadly went into administration in 2008
Hope you like the photos...
