This is an old report of a second visit to the old power station site! At the time - there were a few reports so rather than bombard the sites, I put it on ice!
This was also a Recce for a band shoot that I did which went on to appear on their CD single!
It was built in 1918 after the hugely successful Lever Brothers built many factories that made a big demand on power. It would go on to produce 6.25 Megawatts for the docks and the new village the Lever brothers built to house employees, as well as the industrial load.
In 1998 it sparked for the last time and all that remains is this 11Kv switchgear control room.
