The Grimsby Ice Factory, once the largest ice factory in the world at 4350 square metres in size, used to produce 1200 tonnes of crushed ice daily to preserve fish at Grimsby’s seaport. The factory, constructed between 1898 and 1901, was operational up until 1990. It is now home to hundreds of pigeons, as you’ll see from all the poo on everything! Unfortunately we didn’t have long in here at all before we were rumbled by security.
