Hi All
RAF West Malling in Kent was part of fighter command, 11 Grp Uxbridge, it opened in 1930 and finaly closed in 1969. Guy Gibson, leader of the dam busters raid was stationed there for some time
Not much survives theses days but what is still there is fantastic.
The first thing you see when aproching the site is the top of the Flak tower.
Then on to the control tower, it's in the Art Deco style and I think that it is now listed.
Thats about all for West malling, if we go back there we'll try and find the Battle HQ.
There are a few more pictures here:- http://www.flickr.com/photos/newage2/sets/72157621287787658/
Cheers for looking and any comments are most welcome.
