Some shots of the former Cold War bunker at RAF Bentley Priory, itself carved out of the WW2 bunker on the same site.

WOW what an awesome explore. Love the various rooms and stairs going further underground, and those blast doors. Love the whole place, both the bunker and all the above ground buildings on site. Excellent pics mate, I do like this.

I think many, many people are envious of you for getting the chance to take pics from here, I for one am envious.

From memory, wrt 1970's, the stairs where the handrails are, led down to the lower floor where the toilets were. The building with the heat exchanger in, was, I believe, WW2 a generator building. In the 70's, it just had a 1KW HF transmitter in it and a Storno VHF system. Went there quite a few times on routine checks and the occasional fault and installation.
Building 263 was HQ11Gp. Entrance to the old bunker was down the outside stairs into a corridor that ran from the wooden doors you can see to the entrance to the bunker. Turning right in the corridor through the wooden doors took you to the PBX, which was first on the left.
