Hi All
Only a short report on this site as there ain`t much to see any more.
This is whats left of Grain dummy battery located to the south of Grain land fort.
When built its guns covered across the Medway to Sheerness.
Built in 1865 to cover the other forts in the area, the battery was used on and off right up to WW2 when it was used as a site for AA guns.
Only a few pictures...............
looking at the now exposed magazine.
Inside the magazine looking at the shell racks, these are most likely WW2 anti aircraft storage ammo racks.
This might be another magazine or crew shelter.
The last shot is the steps leading up to the gun emplacements.
Well that it, Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
All comments are most welcome.
Cheers Newage
