Once known as The Wash House Inn, The Bridge Hotel is due for demolition following an application by the landowner. A parish councillor was trying to have the building listed, but English Heritage claimed it was of no historic value. According to a local historian a building has been on this site as far back as 1640.
This has been on my to-do list since May last year and I recently got around to visiting it. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of access considering the signs warning of the building being monitored and how overlooked the building is in general.
