1. The History
Cuartel Alfonso XIII is the former barracks of the Regiment of Sagunto (No. 7 Cavalry Regiment) in Seville, Spain. It was built by engineer Jose Perez Reina built between 1922 and 1924. It was vacated by the regiments in June 1995, overseen by the last Chief Cornel of the Regiment, Carlos Gómez Perezagua. There is scant other information that I was able to find apart from these two newspaper articles from the local press at the time of the barracks closure back in 1995, that can be found HERE and HERE

I stupidly got confused and overlooked the old barracks of the Artillery Regiment of Daóiz y Velarde just up the same road, closer to Seville. However, having inspected Googlemaps, a lot of the complex has been demo’ed and the façade building not completely locked down.
2. The Explore
This place being a military barracks was, predictably, pretty damn secure. Having walked all of the perimeter there were only a couple of possibilities for entry but being on my own made it difficult not being able to get a ‘leg-up’ if you know what I mean. Hence, once again, externals only on this fascinating place. Shame as it looked, potentially a really interesting explore given the site’s size.
