Plans for another explore fell through today so I decided to knock a couple smaller more local locations off my list, as I had a few hours to kill.
South lodge or The Postern is one of the few remnants of the Cane hill grounds still left that is accessible and not totally trashed.
Not much history on this place. Its nothing spectacular to be completely honest, its mostly empty with some signs of squatting.
Last time I was round this way was a couple years ago and it was properly sealed up, not so much now, so why not.
I thought it was just one big house initially, however its actually formed of what looks like an upstairs maisonette and two downstairs maisonettes. The walls separating the three dwellings have been broken so you can get into the whole house.
I also checked out the 'North Lodge' slightly further up. Not only did I manage to get the attention of the Secca guy working in the main Cane Hill site (Came over with his big dog to remind me that getting inside the main fence wouldn't be a good idea, he was pretty alright though ), I also managed to fall through a ground floor floorboard in the North Lodge. The camera didn't even come out he bag for this place. Waste of time.
Anyway, South Lodge Pictures:
Almost put my foot through here when opening the door..
