Hey everyone!

The itter brigade went off for an outing to Hill House again..We managed to find out why this place is abandoned, its basically a scorned person refusing to sell and has stated that they would rather let the place drop than their ex have half the property! Its allegedly only been empty for about 4-5 years but the weird thing is that all the tins ect in the cupboard are dated expiry c1991..More recent letters are dated 2008..The place is rammed full of old newspapers and magazines obviously a hoarder...
Some shots included are of past visits just to get an all round feel of the place...

I have included this photo from a previous visit a couple of years ago just so you can see down the corridor from the kitchen. This part of the house and the 2 adjoiing rooms are pitch black! Mr itter went first as advised by his wife!

The shots we took of the first adjoping room were crap. Neither of us are photographers, however the next picture is of the 2nd adjoing room

Looking from the front door end of the house, the kitchen doorway is on the left side of my head! Remember this is pitch black except for the light at the top of the stairs!

The little bedroom, at the top of the stepladder is the attic hole! This is an old photo but nothing has changed since.

The attic hole, Mr itter braves the ladder and takes the camera up through! I try not to get too freaked out waiting on my own, knowing to get out the buidling its back down the creepy stairs into the darkness..

Nice set. I've never seen any shots "looking out" from the house before, I didn't realise it was so close to other homes. A very interesting place.

How sad. A friend of mine bought a house in rural France a few years back, that had suffered a similar fate. Husband and wife in acrimonious divorce, neither of whom would consent to the house being sold (because under French law, each party in a divorce is entitled to half of the proceeds of the sale of the family home). The property lay empty for nearly 30 years, kept aired and basically maintained by the offspring.

Ex-husband and wife died within 6 months of each other, and the offspring then sold the property for a pittance, because the 30-years war between there parents had turned their childhood home into a thing of misery and regret. The house is lovely, and in a beautiful village in a beautiful part of France. The whole story is heartbreaking.

People, eh?

Great photos, though.

Visited the area late2014, the top windows are bricked up with breeze blocks, so didn't bother exploring. Lovely picture taken from top window
