This school is set in a rural part of South Wales, and a place I've driven past many times but never had the time to stop, until now. This tiny school opened in 1879 for 65 local children. It closed in c1938 due to a threat of a landslip from the coal and iron pits above it. Since then it was previously privately owned and used to store left over items from WWII. These days it is used by a local farmer for storage.
Once inside it took a while to see what was left of this once lovely building. It was nice to see the fire places that was used to thaw out the milk bottles for the children. There was two classrooms (one large, one small), a corridor, and 2 small toilet rooms (one now filled with the farmer's hay). The original school window frames, floor tiles, doors, etc still exist..... apart from that it was left to the imagination of what it once looked like. A very nice building though, set in beautiful surroundings.
