Another loner from our bank holiday round trip slightly better condition this one

DOB gen is PILLBOX (AIR MINISTRY PATTERN): S0000531

Description: 04/1996 A standard type pillbox, presumably built as part of the defences of Bottesford Airfield nearby. 01/04/1995 Reinforced concrete with brick skin both inside and out. Concrete roof, embrasures and lintels. Y' shaped concrete anti ricochet wall. Hexagonal. Concrete shelves under embrasures.

Bored? Not a chance!

You are doing a sterling job of documenting all the defence structures - photographic evidence of them adds to the very limited DoB data. Are you submitting the info to the local HER Officers as well?

I do it periodically for the user submitted sites in the EDOB database but I've yet to see one appear in the relevant record. The more people do it the better.
