Live Quarry - Lovely Old Junk North Yorks

This place is literally 10 mins walk from me, and whilst viewing Google Earth in the week, I spotted what seemed to be like an old truck sitting in the quarry. Old trucks being one of my interests, why not combine it with a wee look see I thought.

Whitestone quarry, in Norton near Malton North Yorks, is a relatviely small limestone quarry, which also has begun to receive landfill, fortunately in the from of rubble and topsoil rather than non biodegradable sh*te. This is very much a live site, so in stealth mode I entered in a rather long way round, christ that limestone mud gets everywhere

Old lorry number 2, weird this, the stickers on the tanker body had 'Charringtons, Derby' I used to live in Derby and walk pass the Charringtons depot on my way to work, small world eh?:

All in all a good little explore on what's turned out to be a glorious day 'oop North'

Did you get anymore pics of the first lorry ? I'd be interested in seeing a bigger picture of it. Was it a tipper ?

You can't beat a good quarry. Good effort getting in and getting the shots. Love the RB30!

Bonkey Dollocks, it was another tanker, but the tanker body seemed newer than the cab and chassis, so perhaps in the past it was a tipper, here is a full picture of it:



It was only when I got back and uploaded my photos to the PC did I notice that the 'Leyland' lettering was mainly on the ground below the truck, never noticed it whilst I was stood there - 0 out of 10 for observancy!!
