Hi all,
Its been nearly a year since my last visit here, and i did think at the time if i ever would see what would happen here again.
Well, purely by chance, i was down in Kent the other week with Noisemetalrich, we were looking at a vintage van which i ended up buying.
On the way back i knew we would pass the Cane Hill junction off the M25, and as it was a long way home i thought it would be a good idea to stretch our legs and have a quick look at the old gal one final time.
We just got on site as the sun was setting, so sorry for the poor quality of the pics, they were just quick snaps really just to document the occasion.
The whole lot really had gone, they seemed to be about a quarter of one of the three story ward blocks left, i think it was "W" block (Wesly/Wren ward) the one near the boiler house.
Large piles of earth and concrete littered the place, it looked like a luna landscape !
The chapel stands proud now, completely isolated in the open, with the admin out front.
The only other remains are the water tower and the old brick boilerhouse chiminey .
It was strange to see it like this, if i do see it again many years from now,i should think admin will have become fancy apartments , maybe one day another service will be held in the church.
somehow, i think both of those will be far in the future.
Hope you enjoy.
THE ODEON
Knew i'd get there in the end !
