Firstly I should apologise for the lack of history or info on these, I was out exploring other sites when we stumbled across these in a field and felt we should at least get some photos and then ask the experts for their help in filling in the blanks.
We could only find three structures however suspect there were more that we couldn't see..

some nice type 24's and 28's there guys nice to see some of the tin sheeting and wooden embrasure former still in place it was looks like this one was disused just as it was being finished

Nice finds, guys...like those. As humans, it's quite normal to make out faces in things, right? Well, those T24s look slightly annoyed to me...or is it just me? ;)

Strange you should say that as I could make out a WTF are we taking photos of concrete for on Nelly's face and he remarked it was only missing a mouth for a smiley face :)

if you were in the chelmsford area you would have been awash with pillboxs, the GHQ line runs right through the area.

I did a little research before posting and found info on the GHQ line but at I couldn't be 100% sure I decided it would be best to defer to the experts :) . If you have any links to go reference info I would love to add it to my browser for future finds.
I tried the google earth plugin but I can't get google earth to work let alone the overlay...

Nice to see some one elce finding wood that has been left in place in a pillbox and I'm not the only one finding type 28's. keep up the good work

Nice set of boxes. No need for me to chime in on the types as it's already been done. Oh and the 24's do look rather angry Foxy. It's the stepped embrasures that do it

Nice pics, never really had a clue what these places were. I've had a look around another one on the outskirts of Chelmsford... pretty much on the side of the road opposite an antiques centre and next to a disused pub, don't know if you found it?

I got pics of quite a few threw that area, theres a lot of type 28 anti tank pillboxs on that stretch

The Essex stop line at its most magnificent. I seem to remember falling off that one in the top few pictures and doing myself a mischief at about the age of 8. There might be a blood stain half way down the embrasure wall where I gave it a closer inspection with my nose. Ouch.....
