I was out yesterday, braving the snowy conditions in the moors of Northumberland looking at this pillbox I first spotted last year. This one isn't on the database. Inside is a lot of original grafitti and range markings inside the loopholes. There are still a few gems out there to be discovered....

Cracking find, period graffiti and ranging marks! Obviously too far from anywhere to be chaved. Where is it?

Looks like it could be the one i visited a few weeks back not a million miles from rothbury i didnt fancy climbing in as i was on my own and in a bit of a rush so its great to see the inside, especially the period markings, look like they could have been painted yesterday!

Fantastic find, good excuse to have another holiday in Northumberland sometime soon.

is this one of the ones guarding ottercopsmoss chain home station by any chance

thought so mate I used to work in blaxter quarry. I sent cptpies the positions of all the ones round there about a year ago. there are quite a few pillboxes on both sides of the road, the buried transmitter/receiver is still there although completely flooded and if memory serves me right a stratton shelter. Next time your up that way could you check out the laa emplacement that the dob has marked up there because some say it is a laa others say its the sewerage gravel pit for the site, it's on the opposite side of the road to the sentry hut

A fantastic little find that. As far as atmospheric shots goes I love your first one, its a real beauty which is made even better by the covering of Snow.
