Unknown Factory - Part 2 - With ANSWERS - April 2012

Note to self, really must try harder on first explores! 2nd Note to self - must always take camera with me everywhere!

Ok, so today I decided to pop back into this building, again completely unplanned at lunch time, again dressed completely inappropriately, but this time before we bought lunch at ASDA

And still only carrying my PDA so again sorry for the dodgy pics

Here's the original post - the place was 'unknown' then, and on reflection we didnt go upstairs, in fact we didnt even see any stairs. FAIL!

Today we found stairs, really obvious ones too!!!








And an open hatch to the top bit, but only a ropey old ladder covered in pigeon s**t so I wasnt about to climb up.

Found some paperwork, the dates are enhanced...











And finally proof of who worked in the building! Dont know how we missed this first time
Looks like 3 different companies. A few google searches have come back blank though.

Nice return visit, great to see the place documented before the inevitable demolition.
Still wonder if the razor blade manufacturer, that was there in the 1950's, was the original owner in 1936 when the place was built

LOL, I've just realised why the place seemed familiar to me when I saw it on your first thread... my uncle used to live around the corner on Montrose Avenue! The last time I visited him was 20 years or so ago though. (Coincidentally he now lives in Stevenage too )
