Another from my back catalogue and another from an Oldham Mill that sadly is no more.

By the time I got to this mill demo was well under way -particularly saddened by this one
as it had been such a landmark for as long as I remember. Used to pass it regularly.

This is shots from a visit to just the engine house of this fine mill. It is a particularly
beautiful one with lots of lovely green tiles and it had a certain grandeur that always
reminded me of a cathedral.

Sadly she's no longer with us.

This one shot with one of my recently traded in Canon 50D's - a superb camera.

I miss the old girl.

We found the original blueprints of the mill, dated 1904 !!!, in there - dirty,
discarded and torn.

Knowing these would just be lost in the rubble it was one of very, very, very
few times I have been momentarily tempted to remove something from a site.

Those who know me wont need to ask the question

gutted mate, gutted..had a bit of a soft spot for the engine house and the mill generally.

I f***ing hate Oldham council - they have got rid of some lovely heritage in the area:

Umpteen mills
Clegg Street warehouse allowed to deteriarate to the point of it being declared unsafe and then levelled .  :icon_evil

This was probably one of, if not, the best engine house of It's type in the country mate. Such a waste of local heritage and history. You should have kept the blueprints! But yes..... I know you better than that ;)

Those Victorian tiles are just fantastic. I also remember you raving about this one at the time :)

Nice one bud.

Agreed with above, loving the tile work, and such a shame it's gone. It was very photogenic.
