In 1902 The Ceres Coliseum opened and was the power generating station and turnaround
for the trolley system until it closed in 1926.
In 1931-1936 it was used as a dance hall and place for town gatherings, later it opened as
the Coliseum Roller Skating Rink. In the 90s a tractor trailer drove off from route 417
and directly through the side of the building causing a huge fire. Since then the Skating
Rink has been closed.
My Gram used to take me skating there when I was young.
The last time I was there I climbed through what appeared to be a window in the wall which led
to another part in the building. In there I found an old apartment. I will post pictures of that once I upload them(from this trip). There appears to no working electric to the building but in the wash room, a room with no windows, there was a lamp on in behind the washer in dryer. It made the hair on my neck stand up so I left.
