visited this place a few months back.it had been on the list a while and after seeing Hughie D's fantastic report on it I quickly got there with the girlfriend as we were in the area.it is a lovely place full of character, with little bits in the woods.the main manor was burnt down but with lots of fireman helping and villagers the fire was reserved to the top floors and the house was rebuilt.it was demolished in 1938 and this is what remains.hughie says it was the remains of the house but I still think it looks like the stable area and horse yard where they would have come through the gates and the horses would have been taken to there stables.but I may be wrong.i usually am ha ha
