I have had a quick look here years ago.but decided to have a little revisit as I liked the air crews graffiti in the canteen area.a nice enjoyable relaxed walk around here.i did two bits of the site.first the technical area then the headquarters site.the airfield designated station 125 was constructed in 1942 and was in use till 1955.it was built as a satellite for RAF Hardwick.the runway measured 6,000 feet and had two secondary runways.the airfield was used by the US airforce as a bomber stationit was designated to the navy after the war and became known as HMS Europa, then returned to the RAF till closure as a maintenance sub depot.
his building was really interesting.it housed the shower area.lots of little rooms with cast seats, never seen that before and really liked them.
These trailers have not been used for a lot of yesrs
Inside the canteen
Some sort of agricultural contraption.it seemrd to have been built to be used in here.this was quite nice.
A little further away is the HQ site.a few buildings here including the large operations block.
this block was tiny and not a lot to it,filled with junk.but this bombsight and repair building had its original ventilation system in it from the forties.
