Visited this little foundry with man gone wrong and janovitch, its a lovely little place and free from vandalism.Cant find much history on it.except it was originally an old wood yard originally on a bigger scale which suffered two fires.it was eventually converted into a small foundry making small castings.i love little places like this, everything seems to be made by the workforce inside.so it has that personal feel to it.

the site is split in to two parts, the first part is loads of old sheds out the back which seemed to be for housing the casting moulds, one big shed we thought when we first saw it was a boat shed with all the racks and low long structure of the shed.it was in a very dilapidated state

So on to the main foundry.its a small place with one long room and a few smaller bits coming off it,and an upstairs with more racking for moulds, most of the machinery has been removed but still some bits left and lots of other things to see.the main foundry closed in 2015.

Lovely mood in these Mikey.

Shelves on the right in the first picture look like ww2 stretchers repurposed as shelving.

That's great, I like foundries and there's enough left to give a good idea of what went on.

Thank you all.i do love nice small industrial places like this one.i never noticed the shelves out of old stretchers but I can see it clearly now.just drilled holes in the frame and welded them in
