Many of you will know this place and remember how beautiful and intact it once was! I was devastated to see the demise of this grade II , listed home. Only a couple of minutes drive from my home I have visited many times over the years, never did I expect to see it like this.

I think I did first report on this, I popped back a few months ago & couldn't believe the state of it. I would of though someone would have it for development in such a nice area

There was an application for redevelopment, new housing and the original grade II listed part to be turned into apartments. Doesn't look like it's going ahead! The owner lives in a stately home up the drive, he hasn't made any effort to secure the property. I was caught in there a few months back, wondered how I got caught, when others have smashed out all the windows and doors, and graffitied all over the outside of the house. I drive by most days, windows are still open letting in the elements. Think if the property gets beyond repair, or even gets burned down , which I can see happening, they'll be more money made from the land, and no listed property upkeep!

Baffles me too, how can literally every window in some places get smashed when they are often overlooked & / or in nice areas,
Who caught you was it owner or just a nosed neighbour?
I assumed it was owned by the hall which is another reason you would think they would push for something to be done with it tbh.

Heres my rather poor report

2 men cane down from his estate, think they were groundsmen. They were friendly enough. Said it's a shame they didn't turn up when the pipes were stolen and the all.the windows smashed out!

Sadly this house has now been set on fire. The roof has been severely damaged, especially over the Grade II listed part of the building. Most of the roof has collapsed. Such a shame! I see this house most days, and over the years have watched it's decline. Another one bites the dust!

Devestating another nice place gone

I wish people could be more discreet when posting there explores. I'm not saying that exposing a derelict property is always because of urbex, but there's a huge risk exposing these buildings locations ! Lots of people out there for a pat on the back, and I'm the first! No consideration for the future of these amazing finds.

of course it has. that means the listed part can now be demolished and someone can profit from developing the land which is easier than refurbishing a listed building, so much cheaper to clear and throw up a zillion ticky tacky boxes.

I agree but with so many people doing urbex now it's impossible to keep places hidden.
Im not a great fan of the rules on Another site which states you have to give rough location, hence I'm selective what I post (I currently have over 150 folders of locations I have not posted).
I do feel a bit bad though as I think I was first to post this place
