The current building was built in the 1890s early 1900s replacing the former building.

Its also known as the Horse & Barge.

The building remains a mystery to this day to why its empty or shall I say certainly abandoned and left.

Surprisingly the building is in very good condition inside compared to other derelict/abandoned buildings i have been into and no sign of any vandalism.

There were plans in 2009 to reopen the pub/hotel but that never seemed to have went ahead.

I've been in a front bar (Australia), a public bar, a lounge bar, a cocktail bar, a cellar bar - even the occasional posh bar. But never a PUSH BAR!

Got drunk in there back in the mid 60's a few lunchtimes from work (just around the corner) when there was a special occasion for workmates like a wedding etc. Didn't someone called "sis" work there at the time?
