Driving by the gate cottage every week I had noticed it looking a little run down, and had that feeling it might be derelict. I did some searching online, and found some interesting information, and a look on Google earth I was excited to see the vast land, and buildings now abandoned, and taken over by nature. It seems this place has been derelict alot longer than I had anticipated.
The main lodge is absolutely beautiful, with remnants of a family who once lived there, with children's toys left in the garden. Dating from the Georgian period, with the outbuildings added later.
Also on the land are the industrial units that were used for engineering works. The industrial units are to be demolished, the Lodge will be restored, and new housing will be built on the land.
The cottage at the gates is in a poor state, what the future holds for it I'm not sure.
