Was visiting the peak district and Sheffield and thought I may as well take a look at some abandoned places whilst I'm here and found this place on Google maps and saw some images of a 1950s looking building with big blue tanks, and headed towards what I thought was that building, but this is a different place it's a bigger water treatment plant on the same site. The original one I was going to go to is further up the path and is having construction work as of may 2024.
Anyway this place was quite interesting but has a quite un settling atmosphere as the light is very dim and quite hard to see where your going with these big ominous tanks around you, and lots of weird graffiti about Tories all over the whole site in paint, pen and spray paint all seemingly done by the same person, quite strange. From what I've read this whole place closed in the late 90s and has been left since. It is where chemicals were added to purify the water from the huge reservoir next to it, before it could be send off for drinking water. Anyways it was a cool little explore
