Had a day in the city yesterday, although nothing was accessible I thought I would post some lovely, derelict buildings I found.
Was rather sketchy in places with drug users, and the homeless.
The buildings include The Black boy pub where a man was sadly found deceased , there was a battered car in the rear car park with evidence of someone living in it.
Corah factory works ( stunning building) but cameras everywhere.
Corah & Sons was a former hosiery and textiles business,
founded by Nathaniel Corah in 1824
St Margaret's works opened in 1865 - 66 and
closed in the 1990s.
Today parts of the factory are still used by hosiery and textile companys,
but much of the factory is unused.
The chimney has gone and there was a fire in April 2012, it is not a listed building.
The sculpture of St Margaret which formerly stood above the main entrance,
was removed to St Margaret's chapel in 1995.
. A high rise apartment block, and a street of graffiti and abandoned buildings and a beautiful derelict building with some gorgeous features dating to 1856, but no idea what it was.
Did try the sky plaza hotel too but no access found and trying to climb the inner stairwell was a no go with drug pharraphanallia, pee and bodies ( alive) blocking the way.
