An unplanned visit, detour on the way home from work. Only one building was accessable - a return visit with some better light and more preparation should render almost all buildings accessable :)

The light was rapidly going, hint of sunset visible through the trees

Most of the glass is smashed in.

Most of the singage is in good condition. In terms of the exterior it's really only the windows and doors that have suffered.

There was only one building I could access, given it was getting dark and I wasn't prepared.

Pretty much the entire place is smashed up on the inside.

I can see the sky!

There's clear evidence of people living here, how recent I couldn't say.

Kitchen could do with a refit

Wide angle Externals in low light

Anyway, that's it for now. Will go back soon and see if I can get into any more of it.

Good pics my man, get your torch and get back!

Explore this place while you can.....plans are afoot to level it and turn it into a retirement village

Well, I went back this morning a little more prepared, and discovered that I am far older and more out of shape than I though. I wasn't able to climb up into any of the other residentail buildings. I got into the workshop and the catering building. I also got up onto the roof of the leisure centre, but decided if I took that route in, I'd probably not be able to get back out, so I returned the way I came - and fell off the roof!

Rolls Royce generator engine

Workshop

Workshop roof - love those skylights

I love the light shaft coming through here

Workshop basement - anyone want to open a hair salon?

Empty fire extinguishers

Windows could do with a clean

Gotta love the sunshine this morning

Winch wheel for the lift

Bolts

One last workshop shot

Inside of the Rec centre

That sofa has certainly seen better days

The catering building, from the roof

There's some fool waving at me

Cuppa tea, luv?

Goods warehouse for catering

Vaguly arty glass shot

Bloody fingerprint :)

Plants reclaiming the building

The assembly hall. I didn't much fancy my chances of getting back out, so just a couple of shots through the window.

Bit of water damage I guess.

The view I had upon landing after falling off the roof - first thing I did was to check the camera!

Where I fell from

Finally, panorama from the roof of the workshop.

Got a few more planned for the weekend, hopefuly no more falls from the roof :)

seemed a safer place to climb, pic owned by mattdonut ;)

The floor in our main hall at school does that, when not walked over during the schools 6 week hols it begins to expand and you get big waves, if left too long the wooden pieces all pop out of place. Hence why we had the floor changed.

Although it's likely to be water damaged too. Sorry to hear you fell of the roof, great shot of the hall though, it's in amazing shape.

Got a message from Mat_100 that access had opened up, so we headed over to take a look. A few minutes after we got in, I saw someone lurking outside. I thought it might be some disreputable type, and I was right. It was ThenewMendoza, shortly joined by Smileysal. Mat_100 and I continued round and took a few shots.

The bank

Key rack

That was about all I found of interest in the bank/pharmacy/dentist building. Not much trace of equipment. So we moved on to the leisure centre.

A lone arm band

The Hall

The bath hoist. Managed to spook Mat_100 as the internal battery still has charge. He took a vid of it moving about :)

The pool

Mural in the Sensory Room

All in, a nice relaxed wander about. As you can see, I've edited the arm band picture. I'd appreciate some feedback on that. The four versions I've done can be found here. All constructive criticism appreciated.

I think must have missed this thread first time around. Some excellent pics everyone. Love that one of the winch wheel. :)
