I've known about this little pump house for many years,having collected and restored quite a few stationary engines and associated machinery in the past.
its fed from a spring coming out of the side of the hill but i,m not entirely sure where it pumped to.

the engine was removed years ago but as you can see the pump is still in place.

just out of interest the pump is a Lister H2,evry time i visit i turn it over by hand to stop it siezing up

Very interesting. We found something similar just last week up here in Northumberland. There was no machinery left in the one here but it was also linked to a nearby spring. Thanks for sharing. :)
 
Oh wow, that is just so nice! I love the look of it and the whole setting. Amazing too, what you learn from reports like this...now I'll know what it is if I find one. Good stuff! :)

seriously though he plays his part in some rural visits,if challenged im looking
for my "missing" dog.
 
Cool find, like the 3rd shot it looks like a cross between very peaceful little explore and the sort of place a crazed serial killer would live
 
hi king al,its kinda spooky reading your comments,i reckon you have some prophetic ability.
this is because ive got a visit coming up that would have some relevance
to what you said about serial killers,and not a million miles frome the pump house.
