On the buildup to my little poland trip I'd been insisting if i get chance to do a little UE id say bye the the other lads for a few hours and get some sites done...esp a crane.....
Taking cranes all the way over, all the way during the transfer to the hotel, and all the first two days, I'd set myself up for riddicule if i didnt crack one...
Tuesday afternoon i walked over the river to what i dubbed "crane alley" there were loads of them...i started checking access...damn easy....the cranes looked pretty safe and decent height....i was getting excited....3 were do-able....

i met the lads for a meal, and said it was on & returned to the hotel for a power nap.... heading over the the site in darkness, it was apparent there were several nightwatchmen - one next to my first target, he watched me as i walked past -
Target No.1 - NO CHANCE
onto target two, noticing a flashing light in another hut, i was sure there was another watchman sitting in the dark....this added a new aspect...if one was sat in the dark so i cant see him...how many more could there be around the site???? gently leaning against the fence, to make a little noise, he stirred....
Target No.2 - NO CHANCE
onto target 3....
access to this wasnt quite right, the site door was open! so i could of walked in and right up.....surely there was someone there....
walking back to the hotel pretty fed up, id failed....wasted hours doing the reccys and walked miles and miles....my dodgy ankle was by now very painfull and it was hard to walk.....
anyway on the wednesday, after the evening meal, watching the footie, and a yap with the lads, i thought i give it one more go....
target 3 still had the door open....if i got caught getting to the crane id act lost/pissed....i mus'nt get caught - i fly early the next day....
anyway i was up like jack and his beanstalk.......
I'd made it....after all the buildup, and huge let down, i was stood looking at Krakow from high up......i took some pics, chilled for a bit & pondered life, then made my way down buzzing......
Wicked, prob most rewarding crane to date....
