Hi all

Had an early start recently, so decided to go and visit Wolsey, which is currently being pulled down. I'd read some recent reports - it seemed like an amazing site.

My photography isn't the best, but I'm getting better so bear with me! I definitely need a tripod. I was struggling too as I made the mistake of putting a crap set of batteries in the camera, so they didn't last long.

This seemed a bit random. I have no idea what it's for. There are 6 tube like things at the top...

...then a bit at the middle with another 6 tube like things...

Then there's this hole in the ground / drain...

Incidentally, there were lots of these little holes and drains about, so be careful. Also there's lots of broken glass about so if you are going to go (and make it soon, it's all coming down), then be careful.

Onto the first building I came across.

It was a 2 storey building with one wall ripped off so it was open to the elements. On looking at the contents, I'd guess it was a store room as there were big metal cupboards upstairs.

Just to the left of the picture above, was a set of stairs. Up I went...

The floor and stairs worried me a little so I didn't spend long. Just long enough to take a few pictures.

Not sure exactly what this once read, but I could read a date of 1978. I was born in '78!

Obligatory chair shot!

I found this too. I only noticed when I was looking at the pictures that it was from 1998.

There's some amazing graffiti here. I got distracted by the graffiti sometimes, so I ended up taking few exterior shots. This has to be my favourite and got my inner geek quite excited!

Don't want to clog the thread up with too many pics so I've uploaded more to my photobucket account:-

The photos were all taken with a Fuji S5000

Did you stick your head down the holes and see what they contained?

Who siad garffiti is crime? That arcade station is quality :)

There's a whole building full of amazing graffiti there :)

I did have a peek into the holes and all I could see was some pipes going into it. I thought it might be a waste water drain or something like that. I couldn't get into it anyway :(

the poster reads
the abrasive wheels act 1978.
its to do with changing grinder wheels safety etc.
i saw the 6 tube machine and didnt know what it was:)
did you have a look at busm while you where down that way?

No I didn't - is that the place next to it? That's completely flattened now.

Glad I know what the poster read now.

Ooh I think I got a glimpse of this place when I was looking round and was wondering how to get onto it.

I also noticed that the Space Centre is on the other side of the river as well.

Edit: Just looking on Flash Earth. Wow, I didn't realise just how much of Wolsey has been knocked down.

I will have to get back to Wolsey and BUSM soon :)
