Visited this with Bryag on a wee nosey down the Loch side, also taking in Drumnadrochit ROC http://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/main/showthread.php?t=5820&highlight=drumnadrochit

Another of the many Hydro schemes in the Highlands,Dundreggan Dam was built in the 1950s. It is a gravity dam, not huge at 55' high, and 400' long. It feeds glenmoriston power station, which is underground, 300' below the dam.
The approach :
Getting closer :
Large tilting gate:
Growing things by the pivot gate:
Looking up :
Screen cleaning gantry :
And the crane:
Knew I'd forgotten something
As usual, plenty of 'stuff'
Looking along the gantry to the other side of the crane:
Screen cleaning grab :
Tis a lengthy screen :
Water
And the main generating part of the scheme:
Plaque at the entrance:
A nice wee jaunt, and for all the WW2 fans, there was this remnant of a tank-trap at the road leading to the dam
I'm getting into this Hydro malarkey
