Saul Junction Pillbox Sept 08

There's a rather dinky little pill box at the junction of the Sharpness Canal and the Stroudwater/Thames & Severn Canal.

I always find it amazing that things appear in photos that you didn't spot whilst taking the shot. Like the pice of twine on the doorway

Nice. I like the brickwork at the side. I am really getting interested in pillboxes recently.

Ooh, that's nice. I could be wrong but I think that's a Prefabricated Type pillbox. The only other one I've seen similar to that is on the Taunton stop Line. Nice find.

Good find. I love the ivy creeping in through any space it finds! A good clean pillbox this. Thanks for posting.

Thanks. That ivy is almost like an alien the way it creeps in. There's absolutely no grafitti at all on the box which, considering it's not far from the nearest village, is quite surprising.

Yup it's a prefabricated one,we've got a similar one near Bradford -on-Avon now buried in very dense undergrowth very close to the railway line.
