These nicely preserved air raid shelters lie beneath the massive Braime Pressings factory in Hunslet, Leeds.
The Grade 2 listed canteen was open yesterday as part of Heritage Day but if you wandered a little bit of the beaten track, these lovely remains were there to see.
A man who worked at Braimes just after the war told me that when he first started there, the shelters were complete with bunks, improvised weapons and even brand new ARP helmets in their original wrappers
