Don't you just love those chance finds whilst urbexing? This was one of those such occasions!
Initially I had gone to Oakley to try & view a big old house named Blair House which is featured in Marcus Deans 1990 released book entitled "Scotland's Endangered Houses".
The house is also shown on Multimaps as a roofless ruin, so off I went... only to discover that Blair House has been completely restored & the adjacent land now has a farm on it! (Hoorah that it's been saved as opposed to bulldozed I guess!)
Anyway, on my way to finding Blair House I drove past Oakley Bowling Club only to find it in a hell of a state, boarded up windows, broken glass everywhere, graffiti... a real chavs paradise!
I stopped & had a look, took a few pics & returned the following morning.
Welcome to Oakley Bowling Club:
Here is the car park:
Here is the outside of the Bowling Club:
The bowling green... hmmm don't think you'll get a smooth game on that!!
Groundsmans wellies?:
Locker room, completely trashed & covered in glass:
Main kitchen area:
Service was terrible!:
Stage:
Ceiling:
The local chav element seem to have a fascination with setting fire to the floor as there were several holes in the floor!
The toilets were remarkably entact:
Even the towel dispenser still had paper towels in!!!
Hooray!! Spotted my first Minimax fire extinguisher!!
