I'd been playing taxi driver from Gatwick early in the morning, had just dropped off my 'fare' (aunt) and was about to head home. I was attempting (and failing at) a bit of traffic avoidance, when I came into Epsom. "Hang on!" I thought, "West Park's supposed to be near here..."
I pulled over and started googling on my phone. I managed to get the location, had a snoop around the satellite images and searched some reports on here. What worried me slightly was that from these it appeared that both falling through floors and having run-ins with security were near inevitable!
I headed over to the location and drove up to the main gate, thinking that it couldn't be that easy...it obviously wasn't. After a bit more google-earth'ing, I picked another route and parked up near there.

I climbed up, and extremely carefully edged around the room, trying to keep to the joists. It was obvious that the numerous holes had suddenly appeared under the feet of others before me, and I didn't want to create any more, especially as I was on my own and didn't have any phone signal!

After some time, I found my way into what appeared to be a storage area, full of various filing cabinets, hospital equipment and other bits and bobs.

After a bit more snooping, I found myself in the canteen and kitchen.

Walking down the glass corridors, I couldn't help but think how visible I was, and began to notice every little noise the old asylum made. After some distance, I looked up and saw the water tower! I just had to get up there! I tried a couple of doors, and voila - vertical water pipes!

I climbed the stairs and found myself looking out over the very much live and very busy section of the hospital. Due to this, I decided against popping my head out onto the balcony and made do with a few shots from the back of the landing.

I'm buzzing, even now as I type this! This was not only my first visit to West Park, but my first solo explore and I managed to pull it off, without going through any floors and without being busted
I obviously didn't have a clue where I was most of the time, so if some of you regulars can ID the photos for me, it'd be appreciated
