I have passed this place dozens of times, finally got round to taking some pics. No history on the place but can only assume its an old farm house. I didnt venture in due to the structure not looking too great as the pics show. There was an old Farmers supplement dating from March 1962 but the red suitcase is obviously a lot newer.

Eeeek, thank you but you need to remember to select a bigger size (800 or 1024) on flickr before you cut and paste the image code, this is a bit too tiny!

The late Victorian pattern wall plates, for the tie-rods, show that the foundations were starting to move years ago - even the expedient of replacing the heavy old pan tiled roof with a lighter roof did not arrest the decay. The nicest object recorded here is the tantalising glimpse of the old, two wheeled horse drawn cart. That and the odd bits of harness chain hanging around suggest that this house could have been the home of the farm 'horseman', with the wooden buildings being the stabling. With what you can find surviving today and from the contents of old photographs, it seems this type of habitation was quite common in the Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire landscape at one time (and no doubt all over Britain where large acreages were worked by horse).
