A Number of Abandoned Factory's the main one being the old Engelhard factory which was used as a biscuit factory Meredith drew and co in the 1950s before Engelhard took over in 1962 and turned into a platinum and gold refinery as well as production of industrial chemicals, catalysts, inks and paints. the refinery closed somewhere between the late 1990s and 2000s.
The one part of the building was the Ensors meat processing factory and Abattoir which was in use till around 2013
