Hi all

This is my first post. I love the site. I confess these are a year old and I have since had my camera nicked but will hopefully soon be out and about again.

This vault is beneath a Plymouth business of no relation to finance. I was given the opportunity to have a look round. So I did.

The vault entrance:

Some of these receipts or whatever they are date back to 1974

And a Chubb safe looking as good as new - sadly empty.

Thanks for looking!

Nice! But I think you could have added a few more colour pictures. I think black and white pictures are cool, but they do tend to suck the life out of the place.

Still a nice find though! :)

It might have been converted from some other business handling cash, like a betting shop.

I used to work in a office that have been converted from a bank, the vault wasn't in the cellar, but in one of the back rooms.

To put a window in the builders had to drill through 3 layers of renforced brick while water was running over it.

This meant that the room was always cold.

Didn't someone find some building with piles of old paperwork, including lots of cashed cheques from the 1960s.
