You sound as bad as I am searching out railway remainsGlad to be of help. But that list is just a skim off the top of the barrel, there's tons more dereliction around Angus. For instance I have a plan of looking for any traces of the Dundee to Newtyle railway. I know that if you take a train to Perth the Newtyle junction was just after the right hand bend passing Buckingham Junction. Now that Covid restrictions are eased I'll be able to get out. Here's a website that helps me a lot from the National Library of Scotland. And use "Side By Side" viewer. National Library of Scotland - Map Images
Quite a bit of the line is still accessible. Starting in Lochee there's the "Miley" footpath, and beyond Muirhead you can park at Dronley and walk another couple of miles. Also some remnants in Newtyle itself and around what was Alyth Junction.Glad to be of help. But that list is just a skim off the top of the barrel, there's tons more dereliction around Angus. That is a big bone of contention asking things like that, the normal answer is no because the guys spend time looking for places and are loathed to tell someone else how to get access. In your case you might get lucky. My std answer is try googling places and look on the maps.A group of friends and I are looking for derelict properties to use for a shortfilm in Angus, we are stuck looking for larger buildings (hotels, warehouses, factories etc) does anybody know of any relatively safe locations we could use without getting into trouble?
It's maybe worth trying to get permission if you're concerned about getting into trouble. Somewhere like West Ward Works (where the Dundee Festival of Design was held a year or two back) might work, if you can find the right person to speak to at DC Thomson.does anybody know of any relatively safe locations we could use without getting into trouble?
