A plot of land in Wimbledon was purchased from the money left to St Georges Hospital by Mr Atkinson Morley. It become the Atkinson Morley Hospital which was founded in 1869.

It was part of the St Georged NHS trust and became its main site for neurosciences. It closed in 2003 and transferred to the new Atkinson Morely Wing at St georges Hospital. [thanks explorette]

i think these greenhouse/garden shots are actually part of the live woolfson centre

loads of files and stuff in the most unsecured open to the elements glorified garden shed. these are taken through a window thoug, i didnt enter anywhere

the st ebbas box of odd slides

and a walk pst the woolfson centre takes you to what i believe to be the old nurses accommodation blocks

i couldnt find a way to the back of the place though i suspect it was up a steep bank which i would never have got the buggy up.

the place had a great creepyish atmosphere not helped by the strange bangings of a mysterious hammer-man coming from that bit near the sign for the mortuary.

had the kids with me. i will return with my cousin at some point.

that green carrier bag in the second pic by the red car. it had food in it. yezs i had a quick nosey. when i came back from the building in the upper car park i saw the security bloke walking along with the bag, must have been his lunch lol. thats his car also. the only life i saw was him the once, a couple of people at the bus stop and a dog walker. until we wandered onto the woolfson site.

ive said somewhere before that my cousins wife worked there as a nurse and her daughter [my ue partner when work committments permit although weve only done an external of cane hill a few months back lol] is itching to go up there and see what happened to the place her mum worked in.

no sign of any construction or anything so im confused who the mysterious hammer-man was.

the building with the eff off grafitti [stupid me didnt take a proper shot just took one of the door] im not quite asure what it is as it was just outside the gate with the sign so outside the boundary imho.
