Random find during a Limekiln hunt, when I first found it I didn't have a torch.

So revisited today.Struggled to google much about the site, but finally found a piece by Liverpool university .

They carried out an excavation in 1992 finding 6 sets of human remains.

They also found a piece of antler which they radio carbon dated to approx 6200 BC

Me too. In fact it's a bit unusual insofar as they've left evidence of their excavation...they're usually covered over again afterwards. So it's a double find! An explore of an exploration!

Thanks for the comments guys, I realise this is a bit off-topic and to be honest I'm surprised it's hasn't ended up in the bin.

I'm very disappointed in the photos, Flash photography doesn't work too well in such an enclosed space, it doesn't portray the depth of the cave accurately. But it was a solo visit with just my tesco head torch.
