This thread is flirting with falling foul of the 'Standards' issue :(....

However, the pure 'Hollywood' nature of it's TV associations go some way towards redeeming it

Some of you may have been fans of the BBC2 series 'Monty Halls Great Escape' aired earlier this year, on Sundays at 9pm, about a Sassenach's ( :p ) move up North, and his tribulations in renovating a farmstead and attempting crofting. More info here
And in a little more detail here

The actual building has been derelict since the early 1900s, and was never a proper croft as such, more a farmstead.

One for all you WW2 buffs, spotted this on the way there :

It's a dramatic road to get there :

There you have it, hardly the most exciting of explores, but I enjoyed seeing it after watching the BBC series, and it was rather useful to shelter in when the heavens opened

Nice one, i enjoyed the programme but was dissapointed that he bought most of his food and didnt actually beach comb much, is it just left open? I thought they would have it set up as a bothy.

 Well really!

I wondered who'd pick on that first :lol::p:p

Yeah, I felt the same, there's not much washes up there, though my ex and I did find a giant fish-box lid, that was great for sufing down the dune on  Apparently the Applecross trust are weighing up whether to use the place as a Crofting Museum, or let it to a needy family...
