Wasn't sure which to put this in
but seeing as it's been a factory mostly, i thought i'd stick it in here.

Went alone to the former Hamilton McBrides Bedding Manufacturers / Temporary Airtours offices (for a short while) in Rossendale, Lancashire.

Most of Airtours left, and moved offices to Rochdale, although they do still have a block across the road from here in use.

i remember going here for a job interview just after leaving school when it made bedding.

i wanted to get in as it may be turned into an Elderley residential home soon.

Anyway here's the pics

Thanks Foxy :)

not sure what state the structure is now after the fire

be sad to see it go if they do doze it.

i hadn't noticed before.. but the corridor pic is a little Cane Hillish with Spack bike :mrgreen:

Mate, I recognise that place, isn't it down the same road as the Textile Museums?

I had a wander round a few months ago but decied it was too modern and mongy for my tastes, well done for getting in as I wanted to see inside but was just too lazy :)

The place had seriously been on fire and the only course now is demolition, this could not be converted.

Hi KingElvis :)

Are you localish?

yes, this is right next to the Textile Museum.
believe it was also a research centre for a company called "Platt Saco Lowell" in its early days.

recently had a problem with Gypo's using the site for a couple of weeks.
then the fire.

always thought it would make a good sports club.

Not local mate but I do come across to Balckburn on a regular basis.

I always thought it was a shame that the pretty little village had this thing stuck in the middle. There is an excellent mill in the same general area...you should go have a look see :)

(sorry to link to another forum but I don't think I put this one on here)

i know the one.

i know a guy who will know about the mill if you're interested in its past :)

**MACRO ALERT** Telephone sockets

QUOTE]

Call me a geek but they are not telephone sockets. They are RJ45 sockets which are used for computer networks!

Most non-hybrid phone systems now use the same CAT 5e sockets, either plug directly in as an IP phone(like Intertel) or via a modtap like the older Avaya or Siemens systems.

You are right though, they are CAT5 data sockets.

Nice work Chews :)

Love those anti "Irish Travelling Community" blocks -kind of reminds me of the anti-tank blocks from WW2!

Lb:jimlad:

They are only on one side of the car park

i'm not sure if they was for something else now.
portakabins maybe?

still stops the travelling community :D
