Another little mixed bag of sites me and Flubs visited.

I don't know whats up with my Flickr at the moment, it's showing the larger versions as fuzzy when I know them not to be, they're fine in 800px and lower.

#1 ABT Train Works. I found this place totally by accident and it was on our way down south so I thought we should check it out. Initially I had no idea what it was all I had was the name, but after finding paperwork inside we deduced it used to manufacture train bogies/carriages. The place was massive and very empty, it looks as if brick reclamation is going on but nobody was home. What made this potentially rubbish place better though was the discovery of an intact but abandoned Trabant and the weather - after half an hour or so inside the clouds gathered, and one of the most incredible thunderstorms I've ever seen kicked off. We were in the main manufacturing hall by this point, each steel support column had an attached drainpipe which was cut off at the end and suddenly we heard a wooosh, as water starts gushing out of the 20 or so drainpipes and onto the factory floor, the noise was incredible.

Yes, it really does stretch all the way into the distance.

Next on the derptour is this place, another I found by accident but I swear I've seen it somewhere on the net before. I think it's a tile factory but I'm not sure, it's certainly been derelict a long, long time. Some of the graff inside was brilliant.

Last in this little bunch, Preventorium Dolhain, I liked it here but it was literally a flying visit, I think we spent less than an hour in it.

I think we need to start a ticket system started for admission to some of these sites, what with you guys and us doing Dolhain and us and Tank doing Hassard C etc!

It's really interesting to see someone else's pix of a site you've just done and I never cease to be amazed at how many times I scratch my head and say, "I don't remember that"!!!

Nice one bud!

Great stuff, both interesting places in their own ways.

That Trabant needs rescued.. it's surely not been abandoned there as long as the building has. I wonder if someones stolen and dumped it there. Did it look like it was a runner?

The hospital looks interesting, even if it's quite bare inside. What I do like is the fact there's hardly any broken windows and only minimal vandalism. It's a really interesting design too, especially the rounded windows art the stairwell.

Look forward to your future reports!
