Nice work mate, looks good.
Sorry I didn't make it in the end!

Re: benefield roc post northamptonshire group 13/4/08

without a JCB those 'deterrents' on the hatch look pretty immovable!
possibly a good thing as chavs may have destroyed the place otherwise, seems to be in very good nick from the pics you've found of the inside,
hope to visit a couple of ROC posts near me soon but info on the condition a bit sketchy and possibly not up to date, they look fascinating sites though, and really appeal to me, it's history that is a bit more recent and easier to get to grips with in a way, allthough i do really like older ww2 stuff, the more recent cold war sites are very interesting too! :)

Ahhhhh..... Now i remember why benefield rings a bell, i went to rockingham and surrounding area last summer to see red kites, thought i recognised the place name! didn't know there was an ROC post round there tho, but then a year ago i hadn't seen the derelict places site and was a bit ignorant of a lot of things i now know about!

cheers i got the pictures of the inside with the camera on a rope trick down the fsm tube:)

there is a few around that area check out google earth there is a kml file around somewhere:)

apologies! i thought they were pics you'd got off the web!
very good idea, the 'rope trick, wouldn't have thought of that!

Did you venture onto the airfield while you were there? (Deenethorpe) I have some pics from a couple of old brick buildings and one of the main runway which is still surfaced, f***ing huge lol. On google earth you can see quite a few of the old military buildings but havnt had time to venture over that area yet, if you fancy a go im me.

Nick.

i didnt have a look at the other buildings.
on my second picture down you can see whats left of the one thats shown on sub brits site!!
i might go back as there is another airfield 13 miles down the road
it was a thor missle site i think with some cool bunkers:)
i let you know if i go back:)
