From BOC website, couldn't find much about the actual building, although they seem to have new premises on the same site, but not on the same scale.

BOC is the largest provider of industrial, medical and special gases in the UK and Ireland.

In the UK and Ireland BOC has been producing atmospheric gases, including oxygen, nitrogen and argon for over 120 years. Its portfolio today includes thousands of different gases and mixtures, as well as related equipment and services.

Internationally BOC is a member of The Linde Group, a world leading gases and engineering company with almost 50,000 employees working in around 100 countries worldwide.

Sorry for all the signage, couldn't help the designer in me :D

yeah signs are great with out them a building is just a shell at least u know what each area is for

And here are some of my shots from our visit, nice and early to stir up the hunger for a good brekky. Was a nice relaxed little explore this one, shame about the wanton destruction as is so often experienced with sites such as these...

Cheers - J ;)

That's good- I struggled to get a picture of these that made any sense.

Whats these used for?

I missed the yellow phone, where was it?

Yeah we went up the mucky ladder and I wangled them, quite bizarre things - had not seen anything like them before, like minature zeppelins.

Not sure what the goggles were used for (eye protection perhaps?), they were in their own little box in the main building.

The yellow phone was in a little box on the wall in the open warehouses down in the far corner of the site. Quite a nice feature.

I had a go up the ladder to see the gas bags- quite tight. Not sure how they worked, if helium is lighter than air, surely the gas would float away?

Ah yes. Goggles. That's it! I remember once seeing them hanging around on grinding machines and their function back then was a mysery!

Nice phone, I thought I had a good look round but missed that.

hehe, I thought that too, they've just fallen in on themselves :D the gas woulda been inside and they would have looked like a giant liquorice bomb :D
